Why proposals need lineage

AI-assisted work can move quickly. That speed can be useful, but it can also make origins disappear. A proposal format helps preserve the path from intuition to public artifact.

Draft proposal lifecycle

A future YIP may move through: seed, draft, review, accepted pattern, revised pattern, and superseded. This lifecycle is only a sketch.

What a YIP is not yet

A YIP is not yet a settled public rule. It is not proof that a public governance body exists. It is a careful container for public learning and revision.
